Herpes and Hepatitis Testing Without a Specialist Referral
For anyone without a regular primary care provider, or whose doctor doesn't routinely order beyond the basics, this clinic's panel includes herpes and hepatitis A, B, and C alongside the standard bacterial and viral tests. One walk-in visit covers exposures a narrower panel would miss entirely.
Interpretation Services Built Into the Visit
Northwell Health-GoHealth Urgent Care in Lindenhurst has interpretation services available for non-English speakers: useful for anyone whose clearest medical conversations happen outside English, and who needs to absorb counseling, medication adherence instructions, or test results without a language gap in the middle.

Sun River Health tests for herpes and hepatitis A, B, and C alongside the core bacterial and viral panel, which means a single appointment surfaces infections that a narrower screen would leave undetected and unaddressed.
Prevention Prescriptions Written On-Site
Plenty of testing sites hand off prevention prescribing to another provider entirely, Sun River Health writes PrEP and PEP on-site, keeping HIV prevention in the same clinical relationship as the testing itself.
Spanish Spoken; Interpretation Covers Other Languages
Spanish is spoken directly at Sun River Health in Copiague, and interpretation services extend to other languages, so a patient's history, questions, and concerns land accurately rather than compressed into whatever English allows.

DoxyPEP, PrEP, and PEP Prescribed Here
Planned Parenthood Hudson Peconic carries PrEP, PEP, and DoxyPEP as standing prescriptions. Having all three means a single conversation with a provider can result in the right prevention strategy in hand before a patient leaves.
Title X Makes Minor Confidentiality Legally Protected
As a Title X clinic, Planned Parenthood Hudson Peconic offers legally confidential family planning services for minors: meaning a young person without a regular provider, or one paying out of pocket, can access testing, contraception, and STI treatment without that visit appearing on a parent's insurance.
Spanish On-Site Closes the Gap Between Appointment and Treatment
When the only Spanish-language option is an off-site interpreter service, the real cost is delay. A follow-up call that doesn't land, instructions that don't stick, a prescription not filled. At Planned Parenthood Hudson Peconic, Spanish is spoken in the room, so diagnosis, counseling, and treatment happen in the same visit without that interval.

Long Island Crisis Center in Deer Park runs on scheduled appointments and covers rapid HIV and syphilis testing alongside HIV counseling, PrEP, and PEP. With every one of those services provided at no fee.

Zero Cost Across Every Service Offered
Long Island Crisis Center charges nothing: not for the rapid HIV test, not for syphilis screening, not for PrEP or PEP. That means the full scope of what the clinic offers stays available regardless of whether a patient arrives insured, underinsured, or without coverage.
Spanish-Speaking Staff on Site, Not on Call
Spanish-language care at Long Island Crisis Center is handled through staff and on-site interpretation: meaning HIV counseling, medication adherence education, and prevention conversations happen in Spanish directly, without routing through an external service or scheduling around availability.
Prevention Prescriptions Stay in One Place
Without a clinic that prescribes both PrEP and PEP in-house, a patient often leaves with a referral and loses days tracking down a prescriber willing to take them. Long Island Crisis Center closes that gap, both medications are prescribed and managed on site, keeping prevention continuous rather than contingent.

Hepatitis C Treated Here, Antivirals and All
Northwell Health in Bay Shore carries hepatitis C treatment through to completion, prescribing direct-acting antivirals and monitoring viral response over the treatment course, staffed to manage the full clinical picture rather than hand the diagnosis off elsewhere.
PrEP and PEP Prescribed Without a Referral Loop
For anyone without a primary care physician who can prescribe HIV prevention medication, Northwell Health in Bay Shore holds that capability directly. Initiating PrEP for ongoing prevention or PEP as a standing clinical service, with no intermediary step to reach the prescription.
Spanish-Language Care Reaches Clinical Nuance
Care at Northwell Health in Bay Shore is delivered in Spanish, which means medication adherence counseling, prevention education, and treatment decisions all happen in the same language. Removing the compression that occurs when a clinical conversation has to travel through translation.
Charles Evans Center in Bethpage runs on a sliding-scale fee structure and accepts Medicaid and private insurance, covering gonorrhea, chlamydia, syphilis, rapid and conventional HIV, herpes, hepatitis A, B, and C, and TB. With same-visit treatment for bacterial infections and HPV and hepatitis B vaccines on hand. Appointments are required.

Herpes and Hepatitis Tested Alongside the Core Panel
Charles Evans Center runs hepatitis A, B, and C antibody testing and herpes serology through the same visit as the standard bacterial and HIV workup. Meaning a single appointment generates results across all three hepatitis strains and herpes rather than requiring separate orders or return visits.
PEP Available Where Many Clinics Stop at PrEP
Plenty of clinics prescribe PrEP and leave PEP to emergency departments. Charles Evans Center carries both, PrEP as an ongoing prevention strategy and PEP as a prescribed course, so neither service requires routing to a separate provider.
Spanish Spoken Here, Interpretation Beyond That
Spanish is spoken directly at Charles Evans Center, and interpretation services extend the same reach to other languages, which means clinical conversations about test results, medication adherence, and prevention options happen without a third voice in the room.

Community Care RX
No ratings yet
Community Care RX in Plainview requires an appointment, so scheduling ahead means arriving to a focused visit that covers HIV, syphilis, gonorrhea, chlamydia, hepatitis B, and hepatitis C: with same-visit treatment for bacterial infections, sliding-scale fees, and care delivered in Chinese and Spanish.
Read full overviewShow less
Hepatitis C Diagnosed and Treated at Community Care RX
A hepatitis C diagnosis that sends you to a separate specialist means weeks of delay before treatment begins, a gap that allows liver damage to quietly continue. Community Care RX in Plainview closes that gap by treating hepatitis C on-site, so a positive result moves directly into a care plan without an intervening handoff.
PrEP and PEP Available, With Ongoing HIV Management
Community Care RX in Plainview prescribes both PrEP and PEP, which means prevention stays consistent rather than interrupted by gaps in access, and for patients already living with HIV, medical treatment continues at the same clinic.
Chinese and Spanish Spoken by Staff, Not Sourced Elsewhere
Many clinics handle non-English communication through workarounds that keep a patient at arm's length from the person making care decisions. At Community Care RX in Plainview, Chinese and Spanish are spoken directly in the clinical encounter, so medication adherence counseling, diagnosis, and treatment all happen in the language a patient uses to think about their own health.
Beyond the dedicated testing centers above: at-home kits by mail, hospital labs certified for STI testing, local clinicians who can order a panel during a regular visit, pharmacies for self-test kits and prescriptions, and online PrEP & treatment.
The nearest testing center is about 1 mile away; if you'd rather skip the trip, an at-home kit ships to Lindenhurst, you collect the sample privately, and mail it back to a CLIA-certified lab. Results come online in days, with a clinician available if anything is positive. Same labs as a clinic, no waiting room, and you can read how accurate at-home STD tests are before you order.
Want a free option first? The CDC-supported TakeMeHome (opens in a new tab) program mails free at-home HIV self-test kits, and, in many areas, free STI kits, to your door, with no insurance or payment needed. The paid kits below add broader panels and faster turnaround.

Reading these numbers: reported case rates only count infections that were actually tested for and diagnosed, so they track local screening effort as much as true spread: a higher rate can reflect more testing, a lower one less. Either way, most STIs cause no symptoms, so treat the figures above as context rather than a verdict, and test on the CDC's schedule regardless of how your area looks.

Pregnant or planning to be?
Congenital syphilis is the fastest-rising STI: what to test, and when
Congenital syphilis, passed from parent to baby in pregnancy, is the fastest-rising STI in the country. U.S. cases climbed from 2,163 in 2020 to 3,882 in 2023. It is almost entirely preventable: the CDC recommends a syphilis test at the first prenatal visit, and every clinic and lab listed for Suffolk County tests for syphilis.

North Lindenhurst skews toward families who have settled in for the long haul, with ownership rates that reflect how deeply rooted most households here are, and average household sizes that suggest those homes are full. That stability is real, but it coexists with a workforce largely tied to commuter schedules, shift work, and the kind of week where a mid-morning appointment is not simply inconvenient but genuinely impossible to slot in. Nearly half of Lindenhurst households bring in six figures or more, yet rent at the $1,678 range still narrows options for the roughly one-in-five residents who do not own, and cost can quietly shape whether a fee-based visit feels worth it.
Young adults, people in their late teens and twenties forming relationships and changing partners, are the group where STIs circulate most actively, and in a community built around family households and long ownership tenures, their screening needs can be easy to overlook. Getting to a clinic means driving, and for anyone without a car or with a rigid schedule, Montauk Highway is less a connector than a commitment.

Confidentiality & consent in New York
Minor consent and partner treatment (EPT) under state law, plus how to test privately
Two things that actually depend on New York law: who can consent, and whether partners can be treated without their own visit. Everything else about testing privately is the same nationwide (see below).
Can a minor consent on their own?
In New York, a minor of any age can consent to confidential STI testing and treatment on their own, no parental permission is required.
Can my partner be treated too? (EPT)
New York permits Expedited Partner Therapy (EPT): if you test positive for chlamydia or gonorrhea, your provider can give you medication (or a prescription) to pass to your partner, no separate exam or appointment needed for them.
Keeping a test private works the same in every state. Whether an STD test shows on insurance (the EOB), how to test anonymously, and self-pay options that leave no insurance trail don’t change by location.
