Spanish and Interpreted Care, Operationally Built In
Spanish speakers are served directly by staff, and interpretation is available for additional languages across every service Hennepin Healthcare offers: testing, treatment, PrEP counseling, and hepatitis management. That coverage extends to medication adherence education, where precision of language shapes whether a patient stays on a regimen.
PrEP and PEP Without the Extra Step
Chasing a PrEP prescription or a PEP course across two separate providers costs time and, sometimes, the window that makes treatment effective. Hennepin Healthcare holds both prescriptions in-house, so neither requires leaving and returning to a different facility to begin.
Hepatitis C Treatment Prescribed and Managed On-Site
Hennepin Healthcare carries hepatitis C treatment through to the prescription stage, direct-acting antivirals are initiated and monitored by the clinic's own providers rather than handed off after diagnosis. Hepatitis B treatment follows the same model, with ongoing medical management rather than a one-time test event.

PrEP and PEP Prescribed and Monitored Here
Planned Parenthood North Central States prescribes both PrEP and PEP directly, with the follow-up HIV testing and check-ins that make long-term PrEP safe. Regular lab monitoring is built into the ongoing care, not handed off elsewhere. The clinic manages the clinical relationship from first prescription through continued use.
Confidential Minor Care Under Title X
Planned Parenthood North Central States holds Title X designation, which means minors can receive STI testing and family planning services with legal confidentiality. No parental billing trail, no guardian sign-off required. For a young person without a regular provider or paying out of pocket, that standing protection is built directly into every eligible service.
Interpretation Services Keep Care Complete
Without language support, a positive result can stall at the moment it matters most. Instructions misread, treatment skipped, follow-up missed. Planned Parenthood North Central States provides interpretation services for non-English languages so that the full clinical conversation, from diagnosis through treatment, reaches the patient accurately and completely.

Allina Health in Brooklyn Park requires an appointment, so scheduling ahead unlocks a full visit covering gonorrhea, chlamydia, syphilis, HIV, herpes, hepatitis A and B, and TB: with same-visit treatment for bacterial STIs, HPV and hepatitis vaccines, and fees scaled to income. Care is available in Spanish.

Full STI Care Conducted Directly in Spanish
Many clinics field Spanish-speaking patients through ad-hoc arrangements that break down at the moments that matter, a diagnosis, a treatment plan, a question about side effects. At Allina Health in Brooklyn Park, Spanish is a language the clinic works in, not something patched onto the visit after the fact.
Substance-Use Treatment Shares Space With STI Care
When substance-use treatment lives at a separate address, one gap in follow-through can leave both conditions unmanaged indefinitely. Allina Health in Brooklyn Park holds both under the same clinical relationship, STI care and substance-use treatment addressed in the same setting, without splitting the patient between two disconnected systems.
Herpes and Hepatitis Testing Beyond the Standard Four
For anyone without a regular provider who needs a genuinely complete picture (herpes status, hepatitis A and B exposure) Allina Health in Brooklyn Park runs that fuller panel directly. No separate specialist, no second appointment at another facility: herpes and both hepatitis strains are tested here alongside gonorrhea, chlamydia, syphilis, HIV, and TB.
Annex Teen Clinic in Robbinsdale runs STI testing and treatment alongside ongoing prevention care (gonorrhea, chlamydia, syphilis, herpes, and rapid or conventional HIV testing) on a sliding-scale fee with walk-ins welcome, same-visit treatment for bacterial infections, and PrEP and PEP available on-site.

Leaving Annex Teen Clinic without a prevention plan when you need one means starting over: finding a prescriber, waiting for another appointment, and carrying risk in the meantime. PrEP and PEP are both managed here directly, so that gap never opens.
Herpes Testing Included in the Standard Panel
Annex Teen Clinic tests for herpes in addition to gonorrhea, chlamydia, syphilis, and HIV, which means an infection that would otherwise go undetected and unaddressed gets named and treated in the same visit.
North Memorial Health in Minneapolis tests for gonorrhea, chlamydia, syphilis, HIV, herpes, hepatitis C, and TB. A wider sweep than most appointment-based clinics carry. Fees are charged on a sliding scale, insurance is accepted, and same-visit treatment is available for bacterial infections.

Herpes and Hepatitis Tested Here, Not Later
Leaving herpes or hepatitis B off a test order means returning to a second clinic, scheduling a separate appointment, and absorbing that cost again. Nucleus Clinic runs all seven (HIV, syphilis, gonorrhea, chlamydia, herpes, hepatitis B, and hepatitis C) in a single visit, so nothing gets deferred.
Spanish-Language Care Without a Gap in Follow-Through
When a result, a treatment plan, or a prevention conversation has to pass through translation friction, details get lost and next steps go unfinished. Nucleus Clinic in Coon Rapids delivers STI care directly in Spanish, keeping the clinical conversation intact from first question to final prescription.
Neighborhood HealthSource in Coon Rapids runs on a sliding-scale fee with Medicaid and insurance accepted, covering gonorrhea, chlamydia, syphilis, herpes, and HIV. Plus HPV and hepatitis A and B vaccines and same-visit treatment for bacterial infections. Appointments are required.

Spanish and Interpretation Built Into Every Visit
Without on-site Spanish and interpretation access, a language barrier becomes a missed appointment, a misunderstood diagnosis, or a treatment plan that never gets followed. At Neighborhood HealthSource, Spanish-speaking staff and interpretation services are part of the visit itself, so medication adherence counseling and STI prevention education land clearly, the first time.
Herpes Testing Included, Not Added Later
Leaving herpes off a panel means a separate appointment, a separate lab, and days or weeks of uncertainty about a condition that affects how partners are protected. Neighborhood HealthSource tests for herpes alongside gonorrhea, chlamydia, syphilis, and HIV. One visit, one complete picture.

Hepatitis C Treatment Happens Here, Completely
University of Minnesota Physicians carries hepatitis C treatment on-site, which means a reactive antibody result doesn't stall at the diagnostic stage: the prescribing relationship, monitoring, and direct-acting antiviral course are managed within the same practice.
Many STI-focused clinics stop at testing and hand prevention prescribing off to a separate provider. University of Minnesota Physicians writes PrEP and PEP directly, keeping the prevention and diagnostic relationship with a single clinical team.
Interpretation Services Woven Into Clinical Care
Interpretation services for non-English languages are available across appointments at University of Minnesota Physicians in Minneapolis: meaning medication adherence counseling, PrEP education, and treatment discussions carry the same clinical precision regardless of which language a patient uses.
Beyond the dedicated testing centers above: at-home kits by mail, hospital labs certified for STI testing, local clinicians who can order a panel during a regular visit, pharmacies for self-test kits and prescriptions, and online PrEP & treatment.
The nearest testing center is about 5 miles away; if you'd rather skip the trip, an at-home kit ships to Maple Grove, you collect the sample privately, and mail it back to a CLIA-certified lab. Results come online in days, with a clinician available if anything is positive. Same labs as a clinic, no waiting room, and you can read how accurate at-home STD tests are before you order.
Want a free option first? The CDC-supported TakeMeHome (opens in a new tab) program mails free at-home HIV self-test kits, and, in many areas, free STI kits, to your door, with no insurance or payment needed. The paid kits below add broader panels and faster turnaround.

Reading these numbers: reported case rates only count infections that were actually tested for and diagnosed, so they track local screening effort as much as true spread: a higher rate can reflect more testing, a lower one less. Either way, most STIs cause no symptoms, so treat the figures above as context rather than a verdict, and test on the CDC's schedule regardless of how your area looks.

Pregnant or planning to be?
Congenital syphilis is the fastest-rising STI: what to test, and when
Congenital syphilis, passed from parent to baby in pregnancy, is the fastest-rising STI in the country. U.S. cases climbed from 2,163 in 2020 to 3,882 in 2023. It is almost entirely preventable: the CDC recommends a syphilis test at the first prenatal visit, and every clinic and lab listed for Hennepin County tests for syphilis.

County Road 81 connects Maple Grove to the broader Hennepin County corridor, and for most residents a clinic visit means getting in the car and driving it, or picking up I-94, rather than walking a few blocks. That's simply how errands work here, and a screening appointment is no different. What makes Maple Grove's profile worth understanding is the combination of stability and density of younger adults. More than eight in ten households own their homes, a share that signals long-term rootedness in neighborhoods like Chapel Wood and Centennial Crossing, and the majority of those households earn enough that a clinic fee or co-pay is unlikely to be the obstacle.
The practical barrier is more often the calendar: with nearly three-quarters of working-age residents in the labor force and unemployment sitting well below typical metro levels, days are full. People in their late teens and twenties are embedded in that same busy rhythm, and the STI rates that track this life stage don't pause for packed schedules. The household texture here is predominantly married couples with children, averaging just over three people per home. Testing fits that picture not as an exception but as ordinary preventive care, the kind a couple handles alongside a physical or a dental visit, before a pregnancy, or after a relationship change.

Confidentiality & consent in Minnesota
Minor consent and partner treatment (EPT) under state law, plus how to test privately
Two things that actually depend on Minnesota law: who can consent, and whether partners can be treated without their own visit. Everything else about testing privately is the same nationwide (see below).
Can a minor consent on their own?
In Minnesota, a minor of any age can consent to confidential STI testing and treatment on their own, no parental permission is required.
Can my partner be treated too? (EPT)
Minnesota permits Expedited Partner Therapy (EPT): if you test positive for chlamydia or gonorrhea, your provider can give you medication (or a prescription) to pass to your partner, no separate exam or appointment needed for them.
Keeping a test private works the same in every state. Whether an STD test shows on insurance (the EOB), how to test anonymously, and self-pay options that leave no insurance trail don’t change by location.
