Spanish Care Without a Second Stop
When a language gap forces someone to return for a follow-up they never book, an STI goes untreated and a cycle of exposure continues. At Public Health Seattle and King County in Bellevue, STI care (testing, counseling, treatment) is delivered directly in Spanish, closing that gap at the first visit.
Substance-Use Treatment Shares the Same Address
Leaving substance-use treatment off the table means a patient clears one diagnosis and walks back into the conditions that drove the exposure, and often returns months later with the same or a new infection. Public Health Seattle and King County in Bellevue carries substance-use treatment alongside STI care so both are addressed in the same clinical relationship.

Chinese-Language Care From the First Question
University of Washington Medicine in Bellevue delivers STI care directly in Chinese, not through an intermediary service but as a standing clinical capability. For someone navigating a PrEP regimen, a hepatitis B diagnosis, or medication adherence counseling, conducting that conversation in Chinese means nothing gets simplified away.
PrEP Prescribed and Monitored at This Clinic
PrEP, whether tenofovir-based Truvada or Descovy, requires the HIV testing, kidney-function monitoring, and prescription renewals that keep it working; University of Washington Medicine in Bellevue handles all of that directly. PEP, the post-exposure course, is likewise prescribed on-site, meaning both ends of HIV prevention live in the same chart.
Hepatitis C Diagnosis and Treatment Stay Here
When hepatitis C treatment requires a separate specialist referral, weeks pass between a positive antibody result and the antiviral prescription that actually clears the infection, and some patients never close that gap. University of Washington Medicine in Bellevue treats hepatitis C on-site, so the confirmed diagnosis moves directly into a treatment plan rather than a handoff.

Spanish Is the Working Language Here
Sea Mar conducts STI care in Spanish, meaning clinical conversations (symptom history, treatment decisions, follow-up instructions) happen in that language without an intermediary. That directness keeps nothing lost between what a patient says and what the provider acts on.
Substance-Use Treatment Sits in the Same Chart
Sea Mar carries substance-use treatment as a named service alongside STI care, so both conditions are addressed within the same clinical relationship rather than managed through separate providers. A single care team holding both makes coordinated treatment decisions (medication interactions, overlapping risk factors) rather than working from incomplete information.
Hepatitis A, B, and C Added to the Panel
Sea Mar tests for hepatitis A, B, and C, including a rapid hepatitis C test, on top of the standard bacterial and HIV panel. Hepatitis C rapid testing returns results in the same visit, compressing the window between screening and knowing.

Diagnosis Without Treatment Is an Unfinished Visit
International Community Health Services carries on-site hepatitis C treatment alongside diagnosis: meaning patients without a specialist, without a primary care relationship, or paying out of pocket don't face a gap between a confirmed result and the medication that clears the infection.
The prevention pharmacy at International Community Health Services spans daily oral PrEP for HIV, post-exposure PEP, and DoxyPEP taken after potential bacterial exposures: each requiring its own prescribing schedule, lab monitoring, and adherence support that the clinic provides directly rather than coordinating across separate providers.
Language Gaps Close Before They Create Clinical Ones
When a nuanced conversation (about a symptom timeline, a medication side effect, or a prevention regimen) gets lost in translation, the clinical outcome suffers for it. At International Community Health Services in Bellevue, care is delivered directly in Chinese, Spanish, Tagalog, and Vietnamese, with interpretation available for other languages, so the medical conversation stays intact from the first question to the final prescription.

Herpes and Hepatitis Tested Alongside the Standard Four
ZoomCare draws herpes serology and hepatitis A, B, and C antibody tests through the same appointment as the core bacterial and HIV panel. That means one blood draw, one visit, and results that cover the infections most clinics ask you to schedule separately.
ZoomCare Redmond prescribes and manages PrEP, PEP, and DoxyPEP, all three prevention medications, without requiring a separate infectious-disease provider. For someone without a standing primary care relationship, that's a single practice writing the prescription, tracking adherence, and handling follow-up labs.
Non-English Language Access Built Into Scheduling
Interpretation services at ZoomCare are arranged as part of the appointment workflow, not improvised at the desk. The clinical conversation (exposure history, medication instructions, test counseling) runs through a staffed interpreter so the clinical record reflects what was actually communicated.

Reading these numbers: reported case rates only count infections that were actually tested for and diagnosed, so they track local screening effort as much as true spread: a higher rate can reflect more testing, a lower one less. Either way, most STIs cause no symptoms, so treat the figures above as context rather than a verdict, and test on the CDC's schedule regardless of how your area looks.

Pregnant or planning to be?Congenital syphilis is the fastest-rising STI: what to test, and when
Congenital syphilis, passed from parent to baby in pregnancy, is the fastest-rising STI in the country. U.S. cases climbed from 2,163 in 2020 to 3,882 in 2023. It is almost entirely preventable: the CDC recommends a syphilis test at the first prenatal visit, and every clinic and lab listed for King County tests for syphilis.

Kelsey Creek Park anchors the eastern residential stretch where Bellevue's character becomes clearest: most adults here are married, households run close to three people, and health decisions, including screening, tend to get folded into family calendars rather than handled impulsively. With nearly six in ten households earning above six figures and a homeownership rate that sits just over half, this is a city split between long-rooted owners and renters facing rents that push toward two thousand dollars a month, a cost level that shapes how discretionary any out-of-pocket appointment feels. That household structure matters for STI screening because young adults in their late teens and twenties, the years when new relationships and changing circumstances make testing genuinely useful, are often the members of a busy family unit least likely to schedule something for themselves alone.
Bellevue's labor-force participation is high, meaning most working-age adults are actively employed, so clinic hours that extend into evenings or weekends determine whether a test actually fits between a commute along 148th Avenue Southeast and school pickup near Woodridge. The options appear on this page serving the area in and around Bellevue, and King County's STI figures make the case for staying current rather than waiting for symptoms. For a married-majority, family-oriented city, routine screening is quietly one of the more consequential household health habits a person can keep.

Confidentiality & consent in WashingtonMinor consent and partner treatment (EPT) under state law, plus how to test privately
Two things that actually depend on Washington law: who can consent, and whether partners can be treated without their own visit. Everything else about testing privately is the same nationwide (see below).
Can a minor consent on their own?
In Washington, a minor of any age can consent to confidential STI testing and treatment on their own, no parental permission is required.
Can my partner be treated too? (EPT)
Washington permits Expedited Partner Therapy (EPT): if you test positive for chlamydia or gonorrhea, your provider can give you medication (or a prescription) to pass to your partner, no separate exam or appointment needed for them.
Keeping a test private works the same in every state. Whether an STD test shows on insurance (the EOB), how to test anonymously, and self-pay options that leave no insurance trail don’t change by location.
